2023 Counter Service duties include greeting customers, taking orders, operating our POS system, collecting payments and making change, fielding phone inquires, beverage service.

2023 Food Runners are responsible for helping maintain the efficiency of the kitchen by packaging food & beverage items and delivering them to seated customers. General patio maintenance and sanitation are also required.

** A new law takes effect on July 1, 2015 requiring all on-premise alcohol servers and bouncers in Cook County to attend BASSET, and for ALL Illinois BASSET cardholders to renew their certification every three years (The law will be strictly enforced as of 01/01/16).

BASSET certification, Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training was created by the State of Illinois to teach sellers and servers of alcoholic beverages the importance of serving alcohol responsibly. Bartenders, waiters, and their managers, who complete this training, are more successful in stopping underage drinking and in recognizing the signs of intoxication..

 

 TEAM POSITIONS

HOSTS (starting @ $10.00 per hour) 

SERVERS (starting @ $5.45 per hour + tips) Qualified candidates must have experience in high volume service and possess a commitment to the highest levels of customer service. They also must pay great attention to detail of the culinary/product knowledge and be a team player.  A ServSafe Handlers' Permit or license according to state/local regulations is required*.

LINE COOKS  (starting @ $14.00 per hour)  The people in these positions must have strong culinary skills, the ability to follow recipes, respect for food quality and food safety, and excel in a fast paced environment. A ServSafe Handlers' Permit or license according to state/local regulations is required*.

DISHWASHER /BUSSER (starting @ $12.00 per hour)   A ServSafe Handlers' Permit or license according to state/local regulations is required*.

EXPERIENCED FLOOR MANAGERS (starting @ $14.00 per hour)  Must enjoy a fast paced environment, heavy customer interaction, be positive, a good problem solver and able to jump in where needed. Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and an understanding of the daily workings of a restaurant/bar a must. Duties will include hiring and training of FOH staff, floor management during service, ordering, POS management, scheduling, opening and closing of the restaurant, and overseeing live music performers and special events.  A ServSafe Handlers' Permit or license according to state/local regulations is required*.

 

* ServSafe Food Handler Permit Law requires all food handlers in the state of Illinois have ANSI Accredited Food Handler Training starting July 1, 2015.  A food handler is defined by law as a person who works in a food facility and performs any duties that involve the preparation, storage or service of food in a food facility. This includes most restaurant jobs, including servers, chefs, head chefs, head cooks, cooks, bussers, bartenders, dishwashers, hosts, and hostesses who handle food and supervisors, such as the general manager or managers. 

Food Handler Permits are not required during the initial interview process, but a copy needs to be on file on the first day of employment. Persons who already have a Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate do not need a Food Handler Permit. It is the responsibility for employees to initially pay for their training (permits are their property and are good for 3 years).
